Research: Pete Fraser's analysis of Geri Halliwell: 'It's Raining Men'

This particular video was released to coincide with the film 'Bridget Jone's Diary'. One key point of Pete Fraser's analysis of the video is that there is movement of the camera motivated by the dancing, which keeps the video pacey to match the song's tempo. Also, Geri Halliwell's kiss of the central judge violates the patriarchal order, so she is in control and as Geri begins singing, the camera tilts up her body to echo the word 'rising' in the lyric which shows how the video relates to the lyrics. But she is then sexualised towards the end of the video, as she is soaking wet and she is then looking directly into the camera in close-up, suggesting that this is for male viewers.
